Job description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing all logistics activities related to import and export freight operations across sea, air and land transportation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while facilitating smooth cargo movement through national and international borders.

Principal Accountabilities:

Policies, Processes & Procedures 

  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment. 

  • Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect the well-being of all employees and company assets.

Main areas of responsibility

  1. Receive and review logistics orders from procurement, assessing transportation needs for purchased materials and equipment.

  2. Analyze freight options across air, sea, and land routes to determine cost-effective and timely shipping solutions.

  3. Verify shipping documentation accuracy and liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance with import/export requirements.

  4. Manage SABER arrangements for imports to maintain adherence to safety and quality regulations.

  5. Arrange and process payments for freight forwarding services and related logistics costs.

  6. Facilitate customs exemptions for temporary shipments to streamline approval and minimize delays.

  7. Coordinate complete customs clearance processes, ensuring all regulatory standards are met for both inbound and outbound freight.

  8. Administer payments for customs duties and government fees for seamless cargo clearance.

  9. Organize transportation from entry ports to final destinations, coordinating with logistics providers for efficient delivery.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and overall business objectives.

 

 

 

 

Job requirements

  • Diploma in Supply Chain, or equivalent

  • 3-4 Years of relevant experience
