Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer to oversee and manage the quality assurance and quality control activities for mechanical systems in large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utilities) comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications while coordinating with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor all mechanical quality activities on-site, including wet utilities, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical infrastructure works.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and method statements in accordance with project specifications and international standards.

  • Review and approve Material Submittals (MS), Method Statements, WIRs, and MIRs for compliance with project and contract requirements.

  • Conduct regular inspections and site audits to ensure works are being executed as per approved documents and drawings.

  • Prepare and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs), and Surveillance Reports.

  • Lead testing and commissioning activities and ensure systems are functioning properly before handover.

  • Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors regarding quality performance and improvement actions.

  • Support internal and external audits, and ensure documentation and record-keeping are accurate and up to date.

  • Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and inspectors to uphold high quality standards.

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in quality control/assurance in infrastructure or MEP projects.

  • Solid knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, ASTM.

  • Strong understanding of QA/QC systems, ISO standards, and project lifecycle processes.

  • Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, MS Office, and QA/QC documentation platforms.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with consultancies or EPC contractors in the Gulf region.

  • Certification in QA/QC (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor) or relevant mechanical inspection programs.
