Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed cost analysis of products, materials, and processes to ensure accurate standard costing.
Monitor and maintain the integrity of inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) in the financial system.
Review and analyze inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, adjustments, scrap, etc.) to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Prepare monthly and quarterly inventory and cost reports, including variance analysis and reconciliations.
Support monthly closing activities related to cost accounting, including journal entries and inventory adjustments.
Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts, and reconcile with the general ledger.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and inefficiencies in the supply chain or manufacturing process.
Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and production teams to align operational and financial data.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimation activities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies related to inventory and costing.
Participate in audits and provide necessary costing and inventory documentation as needed.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Senior Cost Accountant.
Strong understanding of inventory management, cost allocation, and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
