Job description

Under the HSE direction, the HSE Training Manager will develop and deliver HSE Training programs to project senior staff, middle management personnel on company head office and sites. The HSE Training Manager will prepare and maintain HSE Training records, monitor and set schedules for HSE Training classes as required by the HSSE Director. The HSE Training Manager will develop language specific (English and Arabic) training programs.

  1. Plan and conducts HSE trainings - induction and refresher safety training courses for all Company personnel, contractors and visitors.
  2. Prepare and update HSE training matrix and annual training plan based on Client/legal requirement and results of trend analysis.
  3. Deliver in-house Health and Safety Training based on HSE Training Plan.
  4. Support the development of new HSE training courses as determined by the needs of the project to address specific hazards, trends or the need for refresher training by project workers.
  5. Conduct assessment based on the provided trainings.
  6. Organize HSE training programs including the date, time, location and duration of training events.
  7. Maintain HSE training records & register for new and existing employees and ensure they are updated as required.
  8. Communicate and obtain approval from management for any additional HSE training requirements at various phases.
  9. Determine HSE training needs for employees and develop best practices for required trainings.
  10. Improve and adapt existing training programs for delivery and efficiency.
  11. Initiate safety meetings and accurately report details of meetings.
  12. Retrain employees when industry or company best practices are updated.
  13. Order workbooks and additional training materials required for training programs.
  14. Prepare training materials/presentation slides on HSE subjects for all HSE trainings identified in the training matrix and any project specific HSE trainings.
  15. Assist in HSE campaigns.
  16. Coordinate with external training providers for the trainings inside or outside the company premises.
  17. Administer and control the documentation for training programs and maintains all training records
  18. Carry out other assignments delegated by HSSE Director.

Job requirements

  1. Specification: Bachelor

  1. Degree: Engineering or Relevant Field.

  1. Years of Experience and Relevant Field Certifications: 10+ years of relevant experience in construction of mega projects HSSE Management.
  • NEBOSH IGC/OSHA 501/511 Completed.
  • ISO 45001 and 14001 Certifications.

Train the Trainer Course Certification.

Excellent facilitation, written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Experience providing training to workers and adult learners, using popular education/interactive approaches.
  • Experience in and strong commitment to workers’ rights and unions
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Must demonstrate leadership quality and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Experience with environmental or health & safety organizations a plus
