Job description

Environment & Sustainability Management

  1. Propose and implement strategies to address various environmental concerns within construction project work including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building, and facility design, and general education on sustainability.

  2. Consider sustainability proposals with attention to factors such as cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration with other programs.

  3. Maintain current working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all applicable local and internal environmental laws and regulations.

  4. Prepare required documentation for project funding for various environmental initiatives including proposals and grant applications.

  5. Monitor the E&S programs implementation on sites within work stages frequently, and address issues that have a bad impact on the surrounding environment for corrective actions.

  6. Predict the present and future of construction projects and evaluate their effect on the health of the environment.

  7. Develop the entire green resources of work and educate project stakeholders of its importance & impact on the work environment with a focus on sustaining these resources for future projects.

  8. liaise with relevant environmental bodies such as local authorities/communities/social committees, public bodies, and competent bodies to protect the company project from bad reputation trending or legal actions.

  9. Communicate with the procurement /supply chain department for possible purchasing goods matching with E&S business objectives.

  10. Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues.

  11. Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and business partners “Internal /External “.

  12. Identify environmental and sustainability concerns, news, and updates from collected researchers to know pest practices or any new obligations that could be applied to company projects.

People Management & Development

  1. Manage & evaluate environment & sustainability employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned tasks and provide development opportunities to maximize the potential and engagement of employees.

  2. Manage the talent pipeline through effective utilization of employee development programs, mentoring programs, career planning, and succession planning.

  3. Manage employees’ changes through continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking best practices into account, changes in standards, and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  1. Manage the implementation of ePMO department procedures and controls covering all areas so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services.

  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the department in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.

  3. Ensure the implementation of various information security practices and standards to ensure compliance with relevant policies and the protection of Company data and information.

Job requirements

  1. Specification: Bachelor

  2. Degree: Bioscience, Biology, Environmental Science

  3. Years of Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience in construction Environment Sustainability Management

LEED Green Associate, Certified Sustainability Professional (CSP) or relevant is a must
