Job description

To manage on-site electrical works, ensuring installations comply with project plans, safety standards, and technical

specifications. This role manages field teams and subcontractors, oversees daily operations, coordinates with other

disciplines, and liaises with the Technical Engineering Department to resolve design issues and ensure alignment

with approved documents for effective project execution.

Project Technical Performance

  1. Manage all on-site electrical construction activities, including MV/LV power distribution, lighting, grounding,

and low current systems (fire alarm, BMS, data, access control), whether through subcontractors or direct

labour.

2. Ensure project execution meets the planned schedule, budget, safety, and quality targets by coordinating

closely with site teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.

3. Support in defining and updating construction execution plans, work sequences, and daily/weekly activity

targets for electrical works.

4. Participate in the preparation of site logistics plans, manpower allocation, and material delivery schedules

during early project phases.

5. Monitor daily site progress, identify obstacles, and implement corrective measures to maintain work

continuity and resolve execution issues.

6. Manage mobilization and demobilization of electrical site teams and equipment in line with the construction

schedule.

7. Provide field-level support for evaluating change orders and assessing site impact of design revisions.

8. Conduct walkdowns and work-front studies to ensure readiness of areas before work execution and

availability of clear interfaces with other trades.

9. Strong knowledge of electrical systems installation requirements and site coordination with other

disciplines.

10. Review shop drawings, material deliveries, and installation schedules to ensure compliance with project specifications.

11. Ensure adherence to safety regulations, approved method statements, and quality standards.

12. Resolve site-level technical issues and installation conflicts promptly and effectively.

13. Track work progress and ensure alignment with overall project timelines.

14. Manage inspection requests, testing procedures, and commissioning support for electrical systems.

15. Collaborate with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure consistency and reliability in reporting formats and documentation

16. Promote safety awareness and enforce compliance with safety protocols during execution, including conducting toolbox talks, monitoring site conditions, and coordinating with HSE teams to address hazards and ensure safe practices.

People Management & Development

1. Supervise and assess the performance of site engineers, foremen, and subcontractor teams responsible for electrical works.

2. Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and quality among site staff, while ensuring task execution follows best practices.

3. Identify training needs, mentor junior site engineers, and support continuous skill development aligned with field requirements.

Miscellaneous Duties ·

Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and overall business objectives.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Category: Civil / Architectural Engineering

Other Requirements

  • PMP, HSE, and TQM certifications are preferred

  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures related to electrical installations

  • Familiarity with authority requirements and site inspection protocols

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in project technical roles
