Job Summary:
The Project Control Manager for Industrial & Infrastructure Projects is responsible for overseeing project controls to ensure that large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves managing cost, schedule, risk, and performance reports while coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Project Planning & Scheduling (Industrial & Infrastructure Focus):
Develop and maintain EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) schedules (Baseline, updates) using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with project phases.
Apply the critical path method (CPM) scheduling to large-scale industrial and civil projects.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and vendors to ensure feasible timelines.
2- Cost Estimation & Budget Control:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial (e.g., plant expansions) and infrastructure (e.g., highways, pipelines) projects.
Track actual versus budgeted costs, spot variances, and suggest corrective actions.
Manage cash flow forecasting and cost-loaded schedules for multi-year projects.
3- Risk & Change Management:
Conduct risk assessments for industrial (e.g., safety hazards, supply chain delays) and infrastructure (e.g., environmental permits, land acquisition) risks.
Manage change order processes, ensuring accurate documentation and impact assessment.
Maintain contingency reserves and mitigation plans.
4- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track progress with Earned Value Management (EVM) and KPIs (CPI, SPI).
Prepare weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders, covering cost-to-complete and schedule updates.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual obligations.
5- Team & Stakeholder Coordination:
Manage a team of planners, cost engineers, and estimators.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and government agencies to obtain approvals and ensure compliance.
Handle support claims or dispute resolution related to delays or cost overruns.
Job requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
8+ years in project controls for industrial or infrastructure.
Familiarity with EPC contracts, FIDIC, NEC, or lump-sum agreements.
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP, PMI-SP, AACE (CCP, PSP), PRINCE2.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Primavera P6 Cloud, Oracle ERP, Power BI, AutoCAD (for infrastructure projects).
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and macros, along with data analysis abilities.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced construction environments.
